I'm fine either way, > though. I don't see there being any formal need for an expiration data. the toolkit should accept a specification from the caller stating which stamp versions are acceptable. For example, after we decide that version 1 stance are sufficiently stable and are the one true way, systems using Hash cash should be able to devalue version 0 stamps within the stamp generating/validating subsystem. the default case should be to accept all stamp versions known and to generate only the highest version. I would however hold off on the transition to testing. I'm trying to find the time to put in file locking on the double spending database and I hope to have it working in the next day or two. ---eric
