as i understand it... these types of systems will not protect against a customer of (let's pick on msn.net) msn.net gets a virus and their zombied computer starts churning out spam... as long as it claims to be "From" msn.net, then domain keys, SPF, and callerID will consider the message good. not to mention some spamhouse that sends "marketing email" through their own server, with their own valid SPF record, public key, etc. for $5-10 they can even register a new domain for every mail campaign.

interestingly, it would seem that those types of systems would actually help *me*... i run smasher.org and there are very few accounts on that server (no one running windoze has an account)... so, if i created an SPF record for that domain, then it becomes damn-near impossible for anyone to spoof my domain as a "from" address...
