A note from the coordinator.
Wow! So many things to learn and do here at the Handiham Program! I have
been here just over a week now and have met many wonderful people who work
here at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. The Handiham Program is
under the Assistive Technology department now, and the supervisor, Matt
White, is very interested in seeing our program grow in the years to come.
He also wants to assist us in continuing to offer the assistive technology
necessary to make amateur radio accessible to all persons with disabilities.
One of the things we have started doing here in the office, something
especially appropriate as we celebrate 50 years of the Handiham Program, is
going through some of the archives from the program. Perhaps you have a
story to share about something meaningful or interesting that happened with
Handihams in the past. Please feel free to share your anecdotes via email
at <mailto:Lucinda.Moody@xxxxxxxxxx> Lucinda.Moody@xxxxxxxxxx or by calling
me at 612-775-2290
Hap Holly, from the RAIN Report, did an interview this week with the
Handiham Program that should be available for download in mid-July. You can
go to <http://www.therainreport.com> www.therainreport.com to access the
podcast once it is ready.
I am so grateful to all the members and volunteers who have reached out over
the last week, many of whom have volunteered for the interview process or
shared their suggestions for the program. For those of you who have not yet
been interviewed, your turn will be coming soon! For any who are still
interested in participating, please contact me at
<mailto:Lucinda.Moody@xxxxxxxxxx> Lucinda.Moody@xxxxxxxxxx, and I will get
you set up with a date and time to chat.
