It doesn't need to have the user-names, it is enough if it makes a
comment at the PR site, the author would get notification
automatically (except if he unsubscribed).

Hi,

Could be useful, but not sure if github gathers the correct information, for
instance I see commits from me in the stats under 2 names (although I have
only one github account).

Greetings,

Hi Guys,

(i hope this is the right mailing list, if not, can you tell me, wich
one should i use?)

I like the buildmaster infrastructure and I check my ports frequently
at the website, but i don't really like that there is no search
functionality. If one not available for some days it takes plenty time
to find the build-log to see if it worked or not and was the problem
was.

After the recipes gets merged it feels like the author not more in
control over it, as the recipe considered owned by HaikuPorts. If the
author would get notified, it would feel like it is still his/her
responsibility to fix the problems. I would propose a notifying
backend/service. Not every author are always online at IRC or have a
BNC.
I know there is a plan to create a separate branch for beta/testing,
but this doesn't solves the problem: the author doesn't gets informed.

Currently the process looks like this:
- Author creates a PR
- PR gets accepted and merged
- Buldmaster sends it to a bot
- Bot tries to build it
- Port fails
- Buildmaster gets informed
- Buildmaster website shows the port as red
Nothing else.

How it should looks like from my POV:
- Author creates a PR
- PR gets accepted and merged
- Buldmaster sends it to a bot
- Bot tries to build it
- Port fails
- Buildmaster gets informed
- Buildmaster gathers the info (commit ID?) where the recipe comes from
- Buildmaster informs a github bot to create a comment at the PR webiste
- Github bot creates a comment with a link to the buildlog.
- Author gets notified trough github
- Author fixes the recipe
- Happy buildbots building nice packages.

Any opinion about this?

Thanks,
-- miqlas
