Michael Pfeiffer just checked in a file with these comments:
Pixels in patterns are "masked out" whose alpha value exceed a certain
trashhold.
At first, I thought this was a spelling mistake. Then I realized...
when values exceed a certain threshold, they are often, indeed, trash.
So Michael may be onto something here! I'm going to have to add this
word to my vocabulary!
