Firstly I planned to send this message to the IM it and Jabber for BeOS
guys, but afterwards thought It might be interesting for more people.

Considering implementing a VoIP/Videoconferencing software for Haiku, I took
the assumption being Skype closed, that Google Talk is the only protocol
enough open and extended around to bet for.

I assume this last sentence will open a parallel discussion…

I am reviewing libjingle(open lib for gtalk protocols) project and plan in
the following weeks ask for support to the libjingle developers a for
porting solution.

The unix version of the lib requires glib(I hope its only for compiling the
samples application) I think is the only critical dependency.

It is assumed we need to provide 100% any UI stuff and any Sound
recording/playing. Taking this into account I want to have an overview from
them of what are the requirements for something(Haiku) that is not unix.

After we have the lib, we will need to see how we put it all together with
Jabber(something reusable? maybe jingle provides all IM related?)/IM
Kit/WhisperBeNet to have a Client application.

Anybody looked or knows something more about libjingle?

Or can leave any idea regarding this?
