[openbeos] Using printf() in "non-terminal" apps

I've just recently started programming in C/C++ and have a simple question.
I'm trying to write a media reader and decoder and want to use TRACE (defined
as printf) like I've seen other do in their code to see what happens. The
problem is that I can't find how to see the output. It's getting inconvenient
to write it to a file.
