So what you are saying, I think, is that the larger number of drivers makes
Windows unweildy and unstable?

In 95/98/ME series, the biggest source of instability was the mixing of 16
bit and 32 bit code (for backward compatibilty).  Dispite the results they
did do a decent job at it.  In the NT/2000/XP series, the biggest source of
instability is from the drivers.  This driver issue is not the number of
stables but rather some of kernel land.  My graphics driver has brought down
my XP system a number of times.  However, it has never crashed for any other
reason and if anybody else tries to tell me 98 SE is more stable then XP
again they're getting trout slapped :)
