This could be relevant -- this machine is all-SCSI, and my previous machine used SCSI except for the CD-ROM. Also, the USB mass-storage driver may be installed, although no devices are connected (so may not be relevant). Last time I looked, there weren't any drivers for Adaptec SCSI cards in Haiku -- is this still the case? If so, that might leave only the SCSI-like interfaces (AHCI, USB, ?) as potential triggers for this problem in Haiku. Still not actually sure what tracker_taskloop is intended to do though -- it's clearly a thread running a polling loop (!!!) of some kind, yet it doesn't seem to affect much when the thread is killed? - Cyan
