Yes. The owner of the Haikuware and BeBits sites has closed down over
night some time ago. There exist apparently older backups by people,
but AFAIK nobody made the effort to host those old archives yet. One
reson could be the threat of lawsuits by that site owner (though
that's pretty ludicrous in my eyes...).
Anyway, since Haiku nightly images have a package management system,
there are other repositories for software available. See the Web+
bookmarks under "Software" (of a nightly image, of course) and the
User Guide on applications [1].
Also, I have a request: there needs to be a updated install ISO uploaded to
the Haiku website.
I am not knowledgeable enough to build and install a nightly build and
installing code from almost
three years ago is not an option.
You don't have to build images yourself, that's what the nightly
builds are for. See the big red info box at the top of the download
page [2]. Everyone is painfully aware of the need for a new official
release. With the count of the beta-blocking issues decreasing, we
hope to have one, er... real soon now...

Humdinger

Did you know:
If half the Haiku supporters at
http://www.goodsearch.com
made 10 searches a day, we could have a fulltime developer.
