Hi everyone!

This is my first post on the OBOS mailinglist, but I have been lurking for quite some time.

I have some questions about the project, but I missed the Q&A IRC session. As far as I can tell noone asked them during the session either. If I am wrong, please tell me and I will go back and RTFIRCL. :)

If questions like these are frowned upon on the mailing list, please tell me so too and I will go back to lurking until I have something more relevant to say.

1. Are there any showstoppers left? Is there anything that you think will be very hard to duplicate for OBOS R1, or things that are very worrysome?

2. One thing that really amazed me when installing BeOS for the first time (R4?), was how very simple it was to install and get up and running (If you had the right hw). The CD went into the slot, reboot, answer some questions, wait, done! That is how an OS installation should be, not like choosing among ~1000 packages and answering pretty cryptic questions, like when you install Linux MDK or SuSE. Uhm, yeah, the question: Will you make any effort to make OBOS as easy to install as the original, or will you leave that to the distro makers?

3. What about the GUI? Afaik, OBOS R1 will be an almost exact clone (but better?) than BeOS R5. But, will the GUI look the same? The window hanging in a little yellow tab was what made it possible to always identify a PC running BeOS as just that. But I guess there could be restrictions on using the exact same look? If the BeOS GUI *is* protected, is anyone working on a replacement?

Best regards.
