Is there nothing anyone can do to put a stop to this nonsense?

Indeed. This list needs to go into moderation for a week or two. The
admin is Axel, unfortunately he is involved. Maybe someone who is not
involved with Haiku Inc. or this thread can moderate the list for a
while (and ban any conversation on the topic)?

If you disagree, present your arguments.

If you are not interested, don't read the thread (or unsusbscribe from the list).

But don't use force to stop other people from speaking up: that's called censorship.

50 or so posts ago the analogy to censorship would have been valid. But no new points have been raised, no new view have been expressed, no new offers have been made and no minds have changed. At this point a more accurate analogy would be view moderation as blocking of spam. Further discussion is invasive, distracting and very counter productive to the smooth functioning of the list.
