Are you missing something? We do have a cross compiler; it's part of our
build system, and works quite well without Haiku...

Yes, but I think they are referring to something that can be installed without downloading the whole Haiku source code. Something they can use as
make CROSSCOMPILE=i586-pc-haiku-
