I really think the summary model is outdated, with Twitter, blogs and
RSS, also in respect to your own workflow. Why don't you just push out
interesting commits and mails to a blog whenever something cool
happens?

Ironically I think that it's precisely because of the noise that summaries have value. The web2.0tastic hyperbolae only pretends to have meaning.

Also, as Adrien hints at, the act of summarising itself can be beneficial to those involved. Of course, any part of that process that can be automated is welcome. On Tuesday we briefly discussed whether it would be good have all Lint run against all commits, especially for ported code. Unfortunately we couldn't quickly find a plugin for Eclipse.

Humdinger has written a fairly extensive summary (in German) of the status report given at BeGeistert.
