[haiku] Raw images: what am I doing wrong here?

I'm testing Haiku on a device (WebDT 366) that only allows three kinds of boot media: a USB-attached CD-ROM drive, USB flash drive, or its proprietary internal SSD (equivalent to /dev/hda). Burning CDs ad infinitum to test nightlies or spec builds isn't really going to work out, so I've been trying to get raw images working with USB flash drives.

So far, I'm batting zero with this. The process I'm following is this:

- Grab a nightly from http://www.haiku-files.org/raw/.

- Unzip it and dd it to my USB flash drive (`dd if=nightly.image of=/path/to/flash/drive' under OS X 10.6.2)

- Jam the flash drive in the WebDT and watch it not find a boot record.

Something tells me that this isn't related to the WebDT's ability to handle the flash media involved properly as I've booted other OSes from the same flash drives. I've also tried the hybrid and non-hybrid images for both gcc2 and gcc4 with no luck.

I battled with this for a good chunk of last night and made no progress. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

- Cameron.
