One more 64 bit point - you'd be able to have a decent sized RAM disk. Currently (if it is in kernel space) it has to fit in with the kernel in a 1GB total space allocation (at least that was the size for BeOS). If it is in its own address space, then it's limited to 3GB, with the extra overhead for copying data between address spaces. Of course, this is more of a BeOS feature since Haiku has disk caching that works, so you don't really need a RAM disk for speed. - Alex
