What do you meant by "Some form of support from the Haiku project itself to this community effort would have been nice too."? You asked for permission to use the logo, the admins discussed it, took a vote, and responded. Axel posted a nice announcement on the haiku website, including the comment "The Haiku project wants to thank those that made this alternative gathering possible!" What other support would you have liked?

I think I made a very poor choice of words in that sentence, so I added a clarification to the story, which I hereby quote:

"Very poor choice of words in my last sentence. Haiku did actually support FalterCon by posting a news about it on the Haiku website where they acknowledged our effort (thanx Axel!), expeditiously reviewing the Haiku flyer that we put together (thanx mlotz!) and even providing some artwork for it (thanx Stippi!). There is one side of me though that would have liked to see some sort of "tangible support," as in the form of Haiku T-shirts for all of us to wear at the event, which I was hoping that we would get. But maybe that was simply a misplaced expectation on my side. Anyway, to set the record straight, Haiku did support FalterCon, and for that I am grateful."

Thanks for pointing this out Simon. :)

Cheers,

Koki

I wanted to point out to anyone thinking of taking up Koki's call-to-donate that you can also donate directly to Haiku, Inc. In the latest admin meeting summary you can see the proposal to pay costs for Axel and Ingo to work in the same place - that's a great idea, and the latest VM stability updates were the result of the last real-world coding session, I believe.

Perhaps you should mention on the section about the flyer that any changed versions should be sent to the list for permission to use the logo to enable the content to be checked for accuracy.

Good idea with the webcasting, it would be great to see that used more.

Looking forward to seeing the video.

Great job everyone who organised and attended - think we'd have to do the UK version indoors Euan :)
