I think we should make an OBOS community that is better than the BeOs
community !

We must listen to devs, we must listen to the users so that they are
not disapointed by development decisions. This may avoid code forking
and unpopular focus-shifts (remember ;) ). Let the community decide
what is good for the community.

We should take decisions democratically, by letting people submit
ideas, and vote/comment for or against ideas. And then have the ideas
sorted by interest. We could then know exactly what we want, and what
has to be done to make the OBOS community happier than the BeOS
community .
I think that mailling lists are really a poor system to make a
common project: nobody sees your ideas if you don't post often, there
are no structured discussions, no way to distinct what is important
and what is not, no way to see the general direction etc...

Anyone knows how many user were on BeOS? We must know it, so that app-devs
know what is the market/interest for their software (it's all about motivation
:))

We musn't do the same mistakes with our new OBOS community.
Let's build a strong community were everybody's voice is heard.
BeUnited should definitely be the place.

(I know that OBOS R1 specs are fixed (wich is good) and that discussions are
about how
to implement the same functionality as R5, but this is still discussion.)

my 0.02 euros :)
