Have I missed something (quite possible) or why are we anticipating a Linux-style mess as opposed to FreeBSD's more structured approach? The last time I checked there weren't many wild and wooly FreeBSD distro's apart from PC-BSD. I *think* the reason for this is confusion as to what Linux itself is: essentially just the kernel, which is where all the arguments about GNU/Linux stem from, whereas FreeBSD considers itself to be a fully-fledged operating system.
