My interest just shifted back to BeOS/OBOS/whatever, and I'd like to get involved... However, I don't think that my C or C++ is good enough yet to do important things, so I'd like to do something not crucial, and in a Language that I know well enough... AFAIR (I don't have an BeOS Installation right now, just have to find the CD) the Init System of BeOS was/is rather crappy, so it would be at least a good thing to have a better one. I'm thinking about something nearly, but not entirely like the Gentoo <www.gentoo.org> Init scripts, for those those not familiar with these, they are basicly SysV-scripts on steroids, for those who want to be really enlightened, visit <http://www.gentoo.org/doc/rc-scripts.html>. I'd like to see some additional features in it like detection of dead servers, scheduling, stdout logging and doing the init graphic+text-based, depending on the init stage etc... (suggestions are welcome) If nobody can convince me of the uselessness of the is idea, I'll start desingning tomorrow and coding next week (I'll be away over Whitsuntide). PS: Actually, my english is perfect. I just added errors to confuse people ;c) -- (o_ W Achim Schneider W _o) //\_| kernseife@xxxxxxx batchall@xxxxxxxxx |_/\\ >-V_/ | www.mordor.ch/batchall stud.fh-wedel.de/~ia4239 | \_V-<
