Wow, those are *all* beautiful! Hard to pick one, isn't it?!

Hi,
I'm very happy with the designs proposed by Stippi...!
They look ready to be used, but I'm not against a vote if people want to have one.

Hi all,

the Haiku admins have talked a bit on the subject of the HAIKU COMPATIBLE
badge logos. We think that a full blown vote like the one for the Haiku icon
set style, is bit overkill. From the feedback given here, it looks like
everybody would be ok if we made the logos which I designed (3c, 5c, 5d
<http://www.yellowbites.com/stuff/index.html>) the official HAIKU COMPATIBLE
badge logos. So we would have a colored one, a dark on light one and a light
on dark one. I am only aware of Austin, Meanwhile and Thom having designed
other logo propositions. At least Austin expressed that he liked my logos as
well. It would be nice to know from Meanwhile and Thom what they tink/feel.

So how should we proceed? Like I said, we think a vote is a bit too much for
this, since we appear to have logos which everyone would be fine with. But I
don't want to rule out a vote if that is what you want. Plus I don't want to
rule out other people presenting nicer logos yet. So I propose to do the
following:

We set a deadline (Wednesday June 13th), so that you have two weeks to:

* design more logos

and/or

* write to either this list (or to me in private if you like) that you
would really like to see a vote on all known logos.

So in two weeks, if people expressed that they would really like a vote,
then we have one. If we have more logos by then, two things should happen:
Either these logos are clearly (judging by the feedback here) nicer then
what we have (then we take those instead), or we think a vote makes sense.

Otherwise we just take what we have.

Please note that I am perfectly aware that it is a bit flaky that I am the
one writing this email, seeing I designed the logos which would be used
without a vote. On the other side, I think we should get a healthier
athomsphere into our open discussions (based on the trust that what people
argue is with the best intentions for the project), and, like that Google
Tech Talk showed, if something can be decided without a vote, then that's an
indicator of a healthier system. From my perspective, I'm basing this
proposition on the feedback for all the presented logos.

Lastly, please keep in mind that it isn't impossible to update our logos
after we have an "official" one (many companies/projects have done this, or
created additional ones). And the design of such logos is not such a huge
task as the design of the entire icon set.

If you still think we should simply have a vote, then please speak up and
that's no problem!

Best regards,
-Stephan
