Haiku requires a system with at least 96MB RAM to boot and run.  48MB is very 
low, will not load Haiku and will perform badly if you install Haiku and use 
with swap.
 
No command line (non GUI) version of Haiku.  You can edit the bootscript file 
manually to remove certain stuff from loading thus requiring less memory but 
doubtful you will get it down to that low.
 
Only way to install is to take drive and put it in another computer, install 
Haiku to drive, boot Haiku, enable swap and re-install in older laptop.
