Then do it. No one here is saying that quality code contributions for
IA-64 won't be accepted... just that no one cares enough to at the moment
to put the time in to make it happen.  If you *really* want native IA-64
support, put the code in and make it happen (e.g. open source).

Personally in reflection I feel that PowerPC has a better chance of
getting implemented officially just because more people have access to the
hardware.
