I just wanted to make a few suggestions to people contributing or reading this thread:

— badge != logo
— a good badge will strengthen, not dillute the brand
— logo is the symbol of the company, don't weaken it by making it symbolize anything and everything that Haiku is/relates to/needs. — critique is welcome, but design-by-committee is dangerous and produces unsatisfactory results. Provide crit relevant to the design you are addressing, not a wishlist. If you have a wishlist, then you might have a vision, try to implement it yourself — it can be fun. — if you have a wishlist and a vision but you feel your implementation doesn't do it justice, ask around and see if someone can take the reigns of your idea, but don't be upset if it changes. — pointing out the negative of a design is not (or should NEVER be) a personal attack.
