Though maybe it would just be easier to try to get VMware working again. Could I ask what version of VMware others are using in Ubuntu? I am on Hardy (8.04 LTS) now but could upgrade to Intrepid (8.10) if that helped.
I'm using VMware Player 2.5.1 build-126130 with Ubuntu 8.10. Best get the .bundle at http://www.vmware.com/download/player/download.html Install via "sudo sh VMware-Player-xxxxxxx.bundle" And luroh's tip if your keyboard acts up in Haiku: sudo gedit /etc/vmware/config and add xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = true That worked for me last time bloody vmware player didn't start up after a kernel update.
Ubuntu: reminding those of us who use it why we work on Haiku.
