Just to update, and close... I just noticed a thread in the Haiku Forums
where somebody else hit the same glitch, so I wasn't imagining things! (:-))
I suspect that it wasn't actually Google-wide. I'm close to Google's
home turf, so they may have rolled out a change on the local servers
that didn't percolate far outside the Bay Area.
In any case, I just tried again a moment ago, and the text field is
back to being visible. So I can google with W+ once again!
