Yes setup a LKL would be one think, but I'm not sure how it can be integrated into haiku? E.g. what have to be done to mount a filesystem using the LKL? using a haiku wrapper filesystem? Lucian could you please explain this a little bit more?
Here, we are talking about filesystems. I'm wondering how LKL handle updates to the linux kernel. It seems linux is changing quite a lot between versions, so would LKL be able to keep up with that, or does it need a lot of care to get it to compile against newer kernels ? Isn't it possible to find a cleaner solution that's easier to manage, like some FUSE support ?
I also like the idea more, to use FUSE to get a bunch of filesystem at once. But the same here, from the user point of view, how can I mount a FUSE fs!? I think an important point is to create a proper tracker integration where I can easily mount e.g. a ftp fs. From some of the previous GSsC project I miss that the result is not really visible because it is not integrated into haiku, and I think this could also be a problem with LKL.
