While it might be unfortunate, I think the current solution isn't too bad either. You have to create a new account for using the bug tracker which isn't too nice, but that you'll see our next website while doing so (and have a peek at it), is nothing bad. We have nothing to hide, and it's nice for everyone to see progress, isn't it? :-)
People that are reporting bugs to Haiku now, are using it as well, even though we didn't release anything yet. And we're even encouraging them to do it.
I had hoped that someone would say something like that. Thanks Axel!
The website is good enough (and much better than the old site). It's time to switch. There are no more issues. The security issue was resolved. The ticket migration issues are resolved except for international chars (which is a minor issue affecting only a handful tickets). The ticket tracker is much better than BugZilla (design and ease of use) and Drupal is ready for real-world use. People are shouting at us that we don't update our status page. Here it is, auto-updated, so our developers don't have to think about the actual status: http://plonetest.haiku-os.org/trac/roadmap Over time it will become more accurate.
People are shouting at us because our downloads are not updated. Here they are, even including the most recent Jam build: http://plonetest.haiku-os.org/node/20
Let's replace our old website, now! I don't believe that people will be angry if we give them something that fixes their critical issues and then improve it (so they see even more *visible* progress).
