Yeah right! How often will kernel upgrades be required to get some new
feature? If you want a particular driver how many upgrades/patches to the
kernel will be required and what will those do to the support offered? Linux
is anything but stable as a long term platform. As a "i build it today and
use it now" platform it can be made stable, but at a big cost in terms of
features and bleeding edge facilities.
