The restriction is not the container format, but the DRM system employed. It's an oxymoron but even HTML 5 requires a plugin for this. You might want to start researching how to support WideVine. Not that I think that getting this to work on Haiku will make any difference at all. Netflix has made it about as easy as it gets for people to watch its content on their phone or TV. Any other devices are just rounding errors.
