The prob with porting kodi or mpv is that 4K displays and videos are
quite common these days. Whilst I hear Haiku has recently gained some
support in the Tracker / desktop / UI for HiDPI, Haiku lacks the
hardware video decoding required for smooth 4K+ video playback.

Better youtube support coming to WebPositive probably next week. Already
available if you build
the haikuwebkit package yourself from haikuporter. While people here are
discussing apsp to port
and doing nothing, the devs are busy fixing the problems...
Also for youtube you can already use UberTuber for a decent experience
(watching videos in the
native media player).
Netflix is more complicated, but not impossible and probably not 5-10 years
of work! It's just
playing videos after all, what could take 10 years in doing that?
