Could you repost these results compared to the run time from Dominic's BFS
for the same test? This would give an indicator as to how far you still have
to go. Keep up the great work.

Just because you excluded us, I felt like answering it. :P :) Here is the
result of a specific test done today during an OpenBFS optimization
session:
Original run (current state on CVS) : 11m 9.53s
First optimization pass : 10m 16.26s
Second optimization pass : 9m 31.35s
The time value represents how long the test took to complete. Less is
better. :)
