Alex,
Thank you for replying to me!
As for the "Donation meter" I don't quite know what I was referring to, so I
apologise for that.
As a note, I am happy to provide help to the Inc. I live in NY and have run a
couple of UK Limited Companies in the past so I know the hoops you have to jump
though.
I will follow your instructions and get involved with the community.
I certainly don't think I can do better though, that wasn't my intention of my
email! 😊
Thanks,
Dave

All,
What is the current status of Haiku Inc?
Seems like the donation meter and analysis hasn't been updated since
2015
Donation meter on haiku-os.org and haiku-inc.org was updated May 2017, so not
100% sure what you're talking about here.
As for the financial analyses, you're correct. We need to get them updated.
and the link to the NY state charity entity information doesn't work
anymore.
Just an outdated link which needs to be removed.
NY changed their systems and you can no longer directly link to an entity.
Go here:
https://appext20.dos.ny.gov/corp_public/CORPSEARCH.SELECT_ENTITY
Search for Haiku, Inc.
We display all required IRS documents and filings on the documents page.
http://haiku-inc.org/documents.html
Is anyone still actively updating the site? What's happening to the
funds raised through the portal?
The funds go towards server infrastructure, domain costs, and contracts
(However, no current contracts planned)
I'm drawing up a new set of bylaws which includes provisions around public
elections and terms... however, free time permitting, work is going slowly.
Current limitations:
* Board member free time.
Even with fresh members, running an Inc. is a lot of work.
* Password sharing
We need plans around secure sharing of credentials to board
members. Need the flexibility to change passwords every time
members rotate in and out with new bylaws mentioned above.
If you think you can do better, get involved. Dedicate time to Haiku, and run
for an election to a seat in the Inc. All you need to do is talk to people and
become known + trusted in the community.
Once you're well known and trusted, contact someone currently on the board and
request a vote to be elected.
There is a weird assumption floating around that the Inc. is some weird
faceless hand that controls Haiku... this is *not* true. The Haiku Inc.
works just like any other Inc. Have a vested interest, be known and trusted in
the community, and ask to be elected.
