I am with Axel on this (and it was my position since 2001) - R1 is absolutely the most important thing. I hope that you end up running out of things to do, because that means that R1 is out and (virtually) bug free. Of course, I still have my plans for R2... :-) Michael -----Original Message----- From: "Axel Dörfler" [axeld@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Date: 09/29/2011 11:18 To: "Michael Lotz" <mmlr@xxxxxxxx>, haiku-inc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [haiku-inc] Re: Start of the long term contract Michael Lotz<mmlr@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > In the case that I run out of tasks, or when I'm not sure that the > tasks on my list are reasonably worth the paid time, I propose the > following for finding further tasks: Writing a mail to the development > mailing list, some reasonable time before running out of tasks, to ask > for the areas that work is most desired in. I guess we can see how this works out in practice. Besides that, the basic idea behind all tasks should be getting R1 completed. Personally, I would love to see Haiku cover at least the basics, ie. push WebPositive the last mile needed to make it a real alternative to BeZilla or other browsers, have perfectly working POP3 and IMAP again, and finally, make it a really nice working media platform (ie. full support for subtitles, and DVD playback for the Media Kit, and therefore the MediaPlayer). Bye, Axel.
