Hi all,

One of those anecdotal things - the Haiku website always seemed awfully
slow to me.
Now it seems lightning fast (clear cache, reload in ~2 seconds) in update
NY.

The performance in Asia is still quite bad.

Looking at traceroutes to the website with webpagetest.org shows that
pretty much all of the Asia-pacific region is routed via NTT
communications. There seems to be a major slow down between Hetzner and
NTT.

The result can be viewed here:

There are a few other CDN options that are cheaper then CloudFlare,
although they don't offer as many features as they do. CDNify offer their
service for $10 a month including the ability to use custom SSL
certificates for free [1]. CDN77 offer a "Pay As You Go" service at the
rate of 4.9 US cents each GB served and also allow for free custom SSL
certificates [2] .

Of course CDN services are only useful for static content and would not be
appropriate for mirroring packages.

Regards,
Richard.
