Hi,
I submitted a paper to DC-2011 about extended attributes interoperability (attached) that mentions Haiku a few times, and I used the project as affiliation, since it made perfect sense for the topic and creates visibility to researchers.

It has been accepted.

It's a paper I first submitted as a poster/demo at EuroSys 2010 (which was accepted but I chose to go for the Haiku poster instead), which I enlarged to make a full project report paper.

It describes a proposition for xattr interop that is of interest to us because we use xattrs a lot, and we are also adding support for foreign filesystems which also supports xattrs in some form, and it's in our interest if everyone preserves each other's xattrs.

I took the example of a people file being moved through NTFS, Samba and ext3, which ends up with unusable xattrs with the current setup, and proposes an alternative solution.

More about the program:

The conference fees are 150€ (225 with the tutorial which I'd probably attend as well) (yes, scientific conferences are more expensive than FreeSoftware ones, and that's the discount price, goes up to 600 :^).

I didn't check the train costs yet.

I will attend the conf anyway to defend the paper, but I wanted to let you know and discuss if Haiku, Inc. would be willing to participate.

François.
