I am glad Portuguese translation will be included. It has been a big effort,
even if didn’t go much further than 70%. I really think it will make some
difference for Portuguese speaking users, so I can’t wait to test it myself.
I will also try to get some time to work on the “Welcome to Haiku“ page, which
I believe is also an important one, since it is very prominent at the first
For those translations that aren’t ready right now, when will be the next sync

While there is no official planning for beta 2 yet, I think it is the
time of the year where we see how we are doing. Like previous year, I
propose the threshold to be included in the repository (and thus in
the beta images) should be 60% translated. I have created an overview
page on the wiki that shows where all the languages are at the moment.
As you can see there are some excellently maintained languages:
Finnish, French, Spanish, German, Hungarian, Indian, Italian,
Japanese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Swedish and Ukrainian.
Congratulations with your >90% translation rate!
New in the image are the translations for Danish, Friulian and
Portuguese. After the next sync (this Saturday morning) your
translations will be in the nightly images, and in Beta 2.
There are two languages 'in danger': Catalan (58%) and Korean (59%).
Don't worry, with just a few hours of happy translation work you will
be able to get your percentage well above sixty.
Now is the time to start translating! Good luck to everyone.
