Hey all,
As far as the Greek translations are concerned, they're nearly done, with less
than 120 words needing translation. I've spent a lot of time trying to make
strings consistent and fixing past errors, mistakes and inconsistencies.
I think I was lucky enough to reach that point in time, despite the sheer
volume, because I had the ability to adjust my schedule and spend the vast
majority of my free time working in these translations. I also did notice a
(now abandoned) change on Haiku's Gerrit instance
(https://review.haiku-os.org/c/haiku/+/2615) that would remove Greek from the
operating system, which I also consider myself lucky for, because I had just
enough time to get most of the work done.
However, based on the other e-mails that have been posted in this mailing list
recently, I think that it is obvious that there are also some other great
people that are trying hard to make Haiku more accessible, which is the reason
why some translation projects have considerably ramped up their efforts in a
coordinated manner over the past couple of days. As far as my own translation
work is concerned, I believe that I tried my best. However, it is very likely
that there are some weird errors that may have flown under the radar.
Therefore, I believe that some additional time for further testing would still
be fairly useful for me.
I think that we are experiencing some sort of a momentum right now due to the
existence of the deadline, so why cut it off at its peak and not make it last a
bit longer? Also, some additional input on this topic would be great.
