The Quick Tour that has been available for some time at HaikuDepot is
now part of the Welcome pages and ready to be translated at the
translation site . The CSS to make for a smooth single-page
navigation has still to be tweaked, but the text blocks and images are
ready to be worked on.
We'd like to bundle as many translations of the Quick Tour with the
next Beta release as possible. There isn't a fixed deadline for it yet,
I think, but starting early with the translations is better than too
I added some information under "Quick Tour localization" at the i18n
Userguide wiki . It deals with the different focus of the QuickTour
compared to the Userguide. It concentrates more on the screenshots,
some of them - if you decide to localize them - need some compositing
of several shots etc.
I use WonderBrush for that. If you're stuck somewhere, don't hesitate
to ask either here or maybe in the Forums so more people can learn
I migrated the German and Russian localization that's been done for the
HPKG (thanks again, Akuji). I kept all Russian blocks "fuzzy", because
I don't speak it and may have made mistakes copy&pasting. The Russian
language manager will have to proof-read and submit each block.
The Russian images haven't been localized (yet).
