Try running haikuporter- g
That should update the ports tree.  It may be that you didn't run the
install script?  In the haikupoorter directory is a script
installhaikuporter.sh that will do an install for you.
Then haikuporter -i libsdl will give a list of versions you can build,
haikuporter -i libsdl-1.3-hg will build the latest version, or try to.
