Hi everyone,
many screenshots in the user guide should be retaken. Some are really
old, sporting the old DejaVu font, sometimes on top of the gradient-
less old decorator.
While we're at it (when we're at it some time... maybe with some GCI
help *), I'd like to discuss, if we should use changed Appearance
settings when taking screenshots. For the Haiku Quick Tour (available
at HaikuDepot if you wanna take a look), I used all fonts with 10 pt
instead of the regular 12 pt.
This was done because I wanted everything to fit on one page without
scrolling, if possible. It does make a difference esp. when there are
more than one window to be captured etc. IMO it also looks better
together with the text in the browser and it's harder to accidentally
mistake a screenshot with a live window on your system...
What do you say?
Regards,
Humdinger
*) There are GCI tasks to automate screenshooting by scripting via hey,
but as there are over a hundred images and developing a working
automation script is quite time consuming, I doubt we'll ever have such
a system in place. We can keep those tasks, I don't mind, but we could
add "grunt tasks" to crowd-shoot all images.
