It would remove the need for exceptions when parsing. The "&" would still be a problem, however, it still pops up when parsing. Also a unicode is invisible. Personally, I'd prefer to be able to enter the code instead of using the mouse to choose something from a menu. OTOH, it's very seldom needed anyway.
