You should join the haiku-i18n-fr ML and discuss your possible contributions. As you admit that your English is a bit weak, maybe you can submit your contributions somewhere, to be proof-read by the other Frenchies.
This may work for the user guide. The GUI strings are managed by our pootle tool at https://i18n.haiku-os.org/pootle/projects/ . Here submissions have to be approved by a Language Manager anyway, which would make your contributions easier.
