That was my thought as well. While I'm all for keeping things
up-to-date, it is better we not update right before a release.

While this is a bit off-topic to this thread, it has brought the
thought to my mind: I also would prefer if optional packages do not
have their versions upgraded before the release, but are just rebuilt
in the release branch build. I'm not exactly sure what HaikuPorter
automates and what it doesn't, but I would like to make it so we can
remove as much human error from the equation as possible. For example
the updating of the OptionalPackages file is way too error-prone now
and is frequently broken. I say this not as a slight to Scott or other
people who tend to do this work, but just to say the system is flawed.
