I don't think it would hurt anyone. And if it does, that someone could still build app_server with gcc2 just for himself :-)

I think the best course of action is to:

1) Create the beta1 branch with the current setup: gcc2h + x86_64
2) Switch master to gcc5h + x86_64, in preparation for R2. Hopefully
we can turn that into an x86_64+gcc2 hybrid at some later point.

I think it's worthwhile to switch app_server only, without changing the primary architecture for the release. Before the beta branch.

I'm sorry for lack of progress on beta1 lately, I'm still without
internet access at home (should be fixed this week - phone line wiring
problems...), once I'm online again I'll get back to it (and a new
WebKit release, too).
