Thanks for the advise, i selected the Haiku partition to chanload in SBM. 
The real point was that the Haiku partition treated with makebootable would
not boot with any boot manager tried (even haiku's native bootman), all
show the same result (the blinking cursor)

This is how I thought Haiku was supposed to be set up..

MBR  --  bootman
|

I've also tried pointing makebootable at the MBR but that seems to destroy
the partition table :)
