There is one thing we should change, though: the commit message

Yeah, there were a few comments on that. I went ahead and worked off of what Ingo did and made some improvements. I broke the commit section into short
and long comment sections including Ingo's line limitations.

I'd like to avoid getting into branches, tagging, and other advanced topics...
this is more of a condensed crash course for svn folks :)

For those out there wanting additional "professional" training on git,
PeepCode as a pretty solid git training video.. a little pricey at $12 USD though.

I agree some arrows are needed to ensure the development cycle is understood as CCW on the workflow image... but everything I put on it looked bad. I'm still tweaking things and may figure something out. Once the image is final, I'll put the Gimp xcf image on the server or in svn (err. git) for others to tweak in the future.

Let me know if anyone would like to see any other improvements.
