Because the implementation will likely change if/when that happens (or
if the gcc maintainers decide to change it at a whim which they're not
unlikely to do since they couldn't care less about binary
compatibility), which results in your program breaking due to a
compiler update. Furthermore, you're making the assumption that
Haiku's planning on staying with gcc forever, which isn't necessarily
the case.
