AFAIK the instructions are not outdated, but you need to use a hybrid image that has GCC4 installed. If you already used a hybrid image, then GCC4 should aready be installed and you have to activate it with "setgcc gcc4" from the command line. This will toggle a link somewhere to point to the GCC4 build tools.
