Okay, so that doesn't seem to be that bad :-)

We can turn it on now, and leave it at that until, say August 23. Then
we have a whole more week to test with the final version. Another
option would be to check why the IDE bus manager is crashing on some
machines.

Do you have any open bugs you would like to see fixed before the
release that someone else could have a look at?

If it's not in a usable shape in time, we can just disable it.

Well, at least the current Pe version fixes a few annoyances :-)

I have no idea, but if it's questionable, I would rather remove it to
be on the safe side.

IMO, the release should only contain software most of the targeted
audience will actually use, and not one to demo the capabilities of
Haiku alone.
Therefore, I would vote against including Clockwerk, but pro
WonderBrush, for example.

Some more candidates for removal IMO are: BSnow, FontDemo, Mandelbrot,
Playground, and Gradients. They don't really serve any purpose,
anymore.
I would also vote for removing CDPlayer for the alpha, as well as "nfs"
which doesn't seem to work correctly.

Is there a way to specifically remove targets from the release for the
release mode only?

If you're not okay with any of these changes, or have other
suggestions, please tell so quickly, as I would otherwise just go
ahead.

Bye,
   Axel.
